We all have that one friend who takes the term “chill out” to new heights. You know, the one who could stock a big box store for a year with their stretchy pants collection, who wakes up on Saturday morning only to relocate for their early afternoon nap to the sofa and who Netflix and actually chills. In honor of this max-relaxer, we bring you Hang with Me, a sweet little sedum plant that’s happy to hang out with you in her planter all the livelong day. No plans? No problem!
We’ve included our top tips below to help keep your sedum hanging happily. She’s a low maintenance lady so you’ll only lift a finger (or two) to keep her looking lovely - save the rest of your digits for queuing up your next Law and Order: SVU binge session.
Your new plant pal lives her best life in medium to high light. How do you find what’s right? We recommend finding her a home that is no closer than three feet to your brightest window. Pro Tip: this burgundy babe prefers sunnier climates. In the winter months, do your best to chase the daylight, moving her home if need be to maximize her exposure!
Treat your Sedum a lot like a succulent and give her a life lived on the drier side. More than anything, this babe needs drainage. That is why we left her growers pot on, so you can water her - then peek below to adjust and remove water if she has gotten too much. Our top care tip? Get it on a schedule! We recommend setting your calendar and watering her once a week - about 1/4 cup should do the trick! Ease up your watering in winter months - cold and darker conditions set plants into hibernation mode requiring less water. When watering, make sure to water the soil and not the rosette. Pooling water on the leaves can cause rot.
We are shipping this sedum to you at her prime bloom period! Enjoy the flowers as they come in the next couple weeks. After the bloom, pinch off the dead petals for a clean and tailored look.
