On Monday, March 16th we received the news of the San Francisco county shelter-in-place mandate that was to go in effect that night at midnight. As a non-essential business, we were ordered to cease operations. In order to be able to fulfill the rest of the week’s orders for our customers, we transferred all deliveries for Wednesday through Friday of this week to our newly-opened distribution center in Ecuador.
While that team is absolutely top-notch, the fulfillment timeline from Ecuador to our recipients here in the states is longer as the boxes have many more miles to cover than they do when they leave from SF. We’ve also been experiencing some minor transit delays due to COVID-19 related slowdowns with our shipping carriers.
