The short answer is no, your receiver will not need to sign for this package as we've directed FedEx to waive signature requirements with a special serial number in our contract.
Why does this show on my tracking?
When we ship these to Miami, they have to arrive and go through customs. Regulations require us to ship them to the hub with "Indirect Signature Required" until they clear customs.
Once they are cleared, they are re-classified as "Signature Release" or that it's not required. You can see this on the tracking details by opening the FedEx tracking link, scrolling to the activity area and clicking on 'Shipment Facts'. Under the Invoice Number, you'll see a notation and a serial number we applied for to release signatures. (screenshot below)
Our boxes also carry a sticker on them with the signature release and the serial number to flag it to the driver that they are to leave the package at the safest spot at the address.
